About Katsu Factory

Best katsu in town.

Located at 5022 Mowry Ave, Fremont, CA 94538, Katsu Factory operates as a japanese serving Fremont in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11:30 am–2:30 pm. Katsu Factory in Fremont – 3.5 Star Review I recently visited Katsu Factory in Fremont with my family and had a solid but not mind-blowing experience. The restaurant aims to offer a slightly elevated take on Japanese-Hawaiian comfort food, and while they deliver on freshness with certain items, the value for money left me questioning whether it’s worth the premium over more casual spots. The Standout: Chef’s Choice Sashimi This was easily the best dish of the night. Everything was delicious and very fresh, with a generous variety of fish that gave us roughly 20 bites total. The selection was impressive, and the quality was noticeable. The white fish (not sure of the exact name) was the highlight β€” it had a beautiful milky, buttery freshness that really stood out. However, there were a few minor issues with consistency: the salmon slices were noticeably smaller than the tuna, and overall I wished the cuts were a bit larger for the price. It felt like they were stretching the portions slightly thin. Still, this was the one dish that felt truly elevated and made me say I’d happily return just for the sashimi. The owner chef here is truly passionate about tonkatsu. I’ve tried many restaurants around San Jose, but honestly, this place is number one for me. I had the tomahawk-style tonkatsu and my wife ordered the king-size tonkatsu. The portions were huge, the pork was incredibly tender, and the breading was on another level. It was crispy, light, and really different from other places. We both finished everything on our plates without leaving a single bite. Also, all staffs were very kind and we were satisfied with their good service!<3 They just opened in January, so it’s not very well known yetβ€”but I have a feeling there will be a wait soon!

Had the tomahawk katsu, which was a bit dry for my tastes but it was otherwise pretty good

King katsu is huge. This place is located inside Satomi sushi.

Stopped in for early dinner, arrived before they opened. It's inside Satomi which is a Japanese restaurant. If you like you can order sushi or bento box. I decided to get tomahawk katsu, chicken kaarage for the kid, and my sister got salmon sashimi and grilled salmon bento. Food came out pretty quick. Chicken kaarage looked every bit as good as it tasted (good as is but I thought better with little lemon juice), good portion size too. Tomahawk katsu was juicy and tender and didn't need any sauce as it was delicious as is. My sister said the grilled salmon was cooked well and excellent, she said sashimi was good but wasn't cut evenly. The tempura kinda lacked though. The staff was very friendly and on top of refilling the water. Overall good food and good portions.
